Tap

Pre-Grade Syllabus

Designed to introduce children to Tap (and the examination system) in a fun and imaginative way, the Pre-Grade Syllabus focuses on presentation performances.

These are choreographed for children from four years, with music and movement that encourages young dancers’ imagination, rhythm, co-ordination and enjoyment of dance.

Children are presented with Rosettes on completion of their Presentation Class.

American Tap Syllabus

Choreographed by Keith Clifton (USA) the NZAMD American Tap offers students and teachers the necessary training and progression to become an accomplished tap dancer. We are proud to have NZAMD trained tap dancers performing in theatres around the world.

American Tap consists of barre work, centre work, and set or teachers’ own choreographed dances.

Keith Clifton’s choreography develops an exciting rhythmical array of beats throughout the levels, taking NZAMD tap well into the 21st century.
